In the afternoon…Bolter was informed by a cyclist…at Chingford, he had seen a man hanging from a tree..  Bolter at one went to the tree and found the man hanging by a thin rope with his feet about 4 inches from the ground. The man had apparently ceased to breathe, but after cutting the rope Mr Bolter applied artificial respiration and, after about half an hour, succeeded in bringing the man back to consciousness.  The man was then taken by ambulance to North Middlesex Hospital.
